STEWARDSHIP 2008:
Feast of All Souls: “… I came down from heaven not
to do my own will but the will of the one who sent
me.” (John 6:38)
Jesus teaches us the essence of stewardship. We are
put here on earth not to do whatever fulfills us but rather
to fulfill the plan that God had in mind for us. Each if us
has unique blessings and gifts that enable us to fulfill
God’s will for us. When we don’t share those gifts, some
part of God’s plan is left undone. Sadly, we more often
inclined to want to “do our own thing,” rather than do
God’s work. The words of the Our Father, “Thy will be
done,” should be our constant stewardship prayer.
Thanks to those who have returned their “treasure
commitment” to the parish. If you haven’t done so, please
do so as soon as possible so that we can plan for the
coming year.
Don’t forget after all Masses we are celebrating our
parish ministries this weekend. Please go over to the
Parish Center after Mass.
Next weekend, you will have an opportunity to make
a time and talent commitment at all Masses. Also, if you
haven’t made a “treasure commitment” you will have an
opportunity to do that.
